When was the last time you gave yourself a little love and compassion? Self-compassion can be hard to come by but it’s also one of the most beneficial gifts we can give to ourselves and today we’re going to cultivate that sense of compassion through our meditation practice.
Last week, I took a trip to my favorite Getaway Houses for a few days of disconnection from the outside world and connection to my own inner world. This year, I committed to a quarterly trip for myself as a gift of self-love, self-compassion, and honestly, to just reset, but this meditation is to help you find a few more moments of compassion for yourself in your day-to-day life.
Monthly intention: Summer of Self-Care
Today’s meditation: Self-Compassion Meditation
Your journal prompt for today is: Think about a recent situation where you felt challenged or struggled. How you would comfort a friend or family member in a similar situation? What words of kindness and support would you offer them? Spend some time writing out what those phrases may look like. (Bonus challenge: keep them handy for the next time you need them)
