Sometimes the hardest person for us to give love, care, and compassion toward is ourselves. And I get it. I’ve been there too. In certain seasons, we may find ourselves feeling especially critical about whether or not we “deserve” it. This love and kindness meditation is going to help us work on that. Sometimes also called loving kindness or metta meditation, this practice reminds us that we all deserve love, care, respect, kindness, health, and happiness. Often starting with someone to who it’s easy to send positive thoughts, then expanding it further and further out to those we don’t know as well, our community, and beyond, before bringing it back to ourselves. I hope this practice reminds you of the love, compassion, and goodwill that you inherently deserve.
