This is your 25-minute fun block yoga flow class. I was playing around trying to find some inspiration for planning one of my in-person classes a while back and grabbed a block. I was trying to find ways to incorporate that block all throughout the class, not just for a pose or two here or there. I was also looking for ways to challenge my class in new and different ways. At the end of the day, the class was very similar to this and my students seemed to really enjoy themselves. My hope is that you, too, will find fun in this yoga class with blocks.

Often, I think people think of using props in yoga as just a way to make a pose “easier,” like their egos are getting in the way and telling them they better not use any props so they can get more out of their practice. But that isn’t true! First of all, there’s so much I could say about any thoughts of being “above” using props, but I’ll spare you a whole lecture for today. We can do yoga with blocks or any other props as a way to change a posture. Sure, this can mean making it easier, bringing the ground a little bit closer, and finding support in a pose, but this can also mean finding an added challenge, push, and engagement. Give this class a try and see what I’m talking about!

Props needed: 1 block
